ESL Outreach Coordinator

Overview


The role is based out of Atlanta, GA.The ESL Outreach Coordinator works to develop and implement an evangelistic and discipleship strategy using English as a Second Language (ESL) as a platform for relational ministry.This role includes teaching ESL classes, building relationships with participants, and creating pathways for gospel conversations and ongoing discipleship.The Coordinator also trains and mentors Missionary Training School students and volunteers in ESL instruction and cross-cultural outreach, partners with like-minded organizations, and continually evaluates how ESL ministry can better serve the community while remaining faithful to the mission. This ministerial role is full-time and support-raising is required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ministry Strategy Development: Develop and maintain an ESL focused ministry strategy.
  • Training & Coaching: Train and coach MTS students and ESL apprentices in effective ESL skills and how to use ESL as a ministry strategy.
  • Disciple-Making Integration: Help connect disciple-making team members with ESL opportunities and use the ESL platform to fulfill the team’s vision of evangelism, discipleship, church planting, and leadership development.
  • Strategic Direction: Meet with and work alongside the Director of Multiplication to bring strategic direction to all of GFM’s disciple making efforts locally.
  • Team Oversight: Oversee the ESL Outreach Team, ensuring GFM staff stays Christ-centered through organized prayer, worship, and team meetings for strategy and accountability.
  • Assessment: Regularly assess the effectiveness of ministry in the community to bring clarity and alignment to team goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Must personally embrace GFM’s purpose, vision, values, and statement of faith.
  • Must identify as a maturing believer in Jesus Christ with a high view of Scripture.
  • Must demonstrate humility, teachability, and an ability to work well with others.
  • Must display advanced interpersonal relational skills and be dedicated to peacemaking.
  • Must function well both independently and in a team environment.
  • Must be able to use or learn internal communications and technology systems such as Email, Google Drive, Slack, and Salesforce.
  • Must have at least 1-3 years doing evangelism/discipleship using ESL as the primary platform.
  • Must be TESOL or TEFL certified.
  • Must have skills in leading, managing, and coaching others in using ESL in ministry.
  • Must be willing to mentor others in missions experience by modeling, assisting, watching, and launching them into ministry.
  • Must be ready to experience significant missions training and discipleship through GFM’s Missionary Training School.
